Pumpkin soup: here and in Bangladesh

23/02/2017

Sandfield Close Primary School, Leicester

Last year in our African Keyhole Garden that we built from recycled bricks, we grew pumpkins. In the Autumn term we harvested them and made pumpkin soup. We also learnt about the similarities and differences of growing pumpkins in Bangladesh. Our pumpkin soup was healthy and nutritious, we worked with the cooks from the school kitchen and learnt about the vegetables and how to chop and cut them into small pieces. We loved this project and can't wait to sow the pumpkin seeds again. This year we hope to plant more vegetables and have a variety of different soups. Tomato and basil perhaps, or leek and potato?
