We want to make sure all the personal information we have collected about you is safe and secure. This Policy set outs our commitments to you, in compliance with and beyond the General Data Protection Regulation (commonly known as the GDPR) and explains how we collect, store and use your personal information.
We collect the following information from visitors to our website:
We use the information we collect on the website to help us understand how the website is being used and to allow us to communicate with you. Such information will enable us to communicate with you on any matter relating to Get Set, including the provision by us of relevant information, goods and/or services in which we think you may be interested unless you have chosen not to receive such material.
We may use your personal information, such as your name, contact and other details, if you choose to supply them, for the following purposes:
If you have consented when submitting your personal data (e.g. by ticking or not ticking a consent box) we may also use your personal information, as stated above, to market to you exclusive prizes and opportunities and for such other requirements as you may have indicated or consented to.
In addition, and irrespective of whether you have consented to receive marketing communications from us, we may contact you with general information about the Get Set to Eat Fresh programme including for administrative purposes. We are entitled to do so by virtue of it having a legitimate interest in communicating with you for such purpose. All such communications will have an unsubscribe feature.
We will only ever keep your personal data for a reasonable and proportionate period of time. As a safeguard against holding data you have provided to us for too long, we will contact you after 24 months of inactivity on your account with a notification that your personal information will be deleted by us unless you confirm to us that you would like us to keep your data on file.
If, in the meantime, you wish for us to delete or amend your information before the 24 month period has expired, then you can do so at any time by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with a request to this effect. We will then respond within 30 days confirming that your data has been deleted or amended.
In order to provide our products and services to you or to otherwise fulfil contractual arrangements that we have with you, we may need to appoint other organisations to carry out some of the data processing activities on our behalf. These may include, for example, delivery organisations and mailing houses. We engage EdComs Limited and The Education Company Limited for the delivery of the Get Set programme, and these companies process and store your personal data on our behalf.
For the purposes of the Aldi’s Kit for Schools promotion, Aldi is the sole data controller. The fulfilment of posters and kit for the Aldi’s Kit for Schools promotion will be managed by a verified independent third party based in the UK. Personal data supplied when ordering a poster will be securely held by the verified independent third party for the purpose of operating and fulfilling this campaign.
When you register with Get Set to Eat Fresh, you are offered the facility to use an address look-up service called SPIRIT, provided to us by a third party. This is a UK-based database of schools supplied to us by The Education Company Ltd. We use this database to gather supplemental information, such as your school postcode. This allows us to simplify your registration process and subsequently to monitor which resources you open to assist us in our development of new resources.
In all instances where we disclose your information to third parties, we will ensure that your information is appropriately protected.
You can request a copy of information held about you at any time by contacting email@example.com. Though we do not charge a fee for one-off requests, we do reserve the right to charge a fee of £10 per request for repeated requests in order to cover our administrative expenses. Subject to verifying your identity, we will respond to any such requests with the information requested within 30 days.
