Get cooking – Power cookies

In January–February 2021, we challenged young people, aged 5–14, to get creative and design an original recipe, inspired by Team GB. This recipe, written by Theo, aged 6 from St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Birmingham impressed the judges to be chosen as our winner for ages 5–7.

Power cookies 

Tasty, fruity and healthy power cookies – a great source of energy!

Key information

Makes: 10 cookies.

Cook time: 30 minutes 

Ingredients

  • 1 x large apple
  • A handful of raisins
  • 3 x big strawberries
  • 250g porridge oats
  • 2 x teaspoons of coconut oil
  • 2 x big squirts of honey

Method

  1. Peel, core and chop the apple.
  2. Chop the strawberries and mix with the apple.
  3. Mix in with all the other ingredients.
  4. Use your hands to make it cookie shaped and put it on a baking tray.
  5. Put them in the oven at 180 degrees and cook for twenty minutes.
  6. Let them cool – then eat them!
