Get Set to Eat Fresh is an education programme with a difference. Our free, curriculum-linked resources use Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes to inspire students aged 5–14 to cook and eat healthy, fresh food.
Get Set to Eat Fresh's free lesson plans, activities and athlete films aims to build young peoples curiosity and enthusiam for exploring healthy, fresh food and the confidence to explore food and cook and feed themselves nutritious meals - everything they need to perform at their best in the classroom and on the field, supporting students to achieve healthy, active lifestyles.
Our resources are packed with a wide variety of flexible, curriculum-linked content. Including films, downloadable student sheets and lesson plans alongside online content for students, teachers and families (such as our Seasonal Produce profiles or Quick Quizzes), the Get Set to Eat Fresh resources have been designed to allow you to pick and choose activities to suit your lesson, class and wider school community.
The resources cover a range of topics, from cooking, nutrition and science to international foods and cultures. For instance, in Food Trends, students explore food in the UK past and present, an Olympian and Paralympian's favourite foods and design their own food futures. In Eat Well with Team GB, students discover what it means to eat healthily as a young person and as an elite athlete by creating their own eatwell plates and writing nutritional advice for a Team GB hero. Or you can encourage the whole school to get involved with Get Set to Eat Fresh’s Celebration of Food week and by running your own Food Celebration Event.
